Looks like I get to join the illustrious club! This morning, I was diagnosed with diabetes. I'm still trying to figure out what I should feel, because I don't feel anything. I don't see what this "sentence" changes in me. I realized, there shouldn't be anything different in how I conduct my life. As a Christian, I am already under a "sentence" that life as I know it can end...at any time, like a thief in the night, and that I know not the hour nor the time. Why should this be any different? However, when filling out paperwork I noticed a part where it said: "Religeon." As I wrote in Christian, I was convicted. Am I really? What did I do on the way to work this morning that showed the love I have, or should have, of the knowledge that when I do die, I am actually born! Jesus didn't die on the cross...he gave birth. Birth to life with Him available for all of us. I realized I take that availability for all away when I pass by the guy asking for money, when I walk around the elderly widow woman, when I let the orphans fend for themselves what they can, like wild animals begging for scraps. I confess my sin of being a comfortable Christian, Holy Father, deliver me and inflict me so that I know I'm at least doing something. Amen. If I die tomorrow, would the world know? If they don't, than I haven't done the job He has entrusted me to do. When Mother Teresa went to be with the Lord, the whole world cried. Me...it would take two weeks before my parents would probably find out. Saviour Jesus, I repent...save me again.

I learned a valuable lesson from the scripture where Jesus tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves...the part I have been missing is that little word "as." How well we are able to love our neighbor is going to be directly proportionate to how well we learn to love ourselves. It says to love our neighbors "as ourselves," so we must first love ourselves, and I believe the way to finally fulfill that (Paul spent a good majority of his letters trying to get this point across) is to feel the love that Jesus has for us, and the best way to do this is to open the valve to our heart, and let all that "living water (Word)" flow from our brains into our hearts as Bruce said. If we don't, than that water will evaporate into the air and be swallowed up. When you fly on an airplane, in an emergency case and the oxygen masks drop, we are instructed to first secure our own mask, and then help others. You can't be of much help when you are passed out due to lack of oxygen. I constantly remind myself of this fact, that before I can truly share Jesus with others, I have to receive His love first, then I will be able to share His love with others.

As Adam told us in Slidell, "Remember the wondrous works He has done..." - Psalm 105:5a And what a wondrous work He has done in all of us! I remember too, that it wasn't long ago that I was just as trapped as them. Reason more for me to reach out in Christian love. There is an old saying, if you do things right the right things happen. The Bible also tells us that God opens door no man can shut, and God can close doors that no man can open. For me, this helps to remind me that I have no way of knowing if my testimony will open that door or not, but I know if I stay in the will of God, and operate according to His commandants, there is no door that can not be opened, no matter how stubborn or resistant it may be.

I think it's neat that Jesus was adopted by Joseph. He gained the same family rights as Joseph, that is, to be counted as a son of David. It is interesting too how when people needed healing they would shout this out to Jesus, as if to tell Him "I know who you are, I know who you are!" I too, am adopted, and I thank God everyday for the day my biological mother and father gave me up for adoption, you see at that moment I was not abandoned like I thought for all those years, rather I was fortunate enough to be put directly under His care. Without that day, I might not be walking with Him right now. I was adopted by a wonderful mom and dad, and am grateful for every moment shared with them. I am also very grateful to be in the family I am in now as well, the family of Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior, the Creator of the world and Word of God. I was flipping through our church catalog, and smiling at all my brothers and sisters, we had a "smile-off" but they won, they cheated though, they were pictures. God bless you all!

Thanks Bruce!!! I often find myself reciting John 15:5 to myself: --"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." When it seems my flesh is battling against my soul, I remember how Paul, in Romans chapter seven, mentioned how he couldn't do what he wanted to do, but did what he did not want to do etc. etc. his list goes on and on. If you count all the "I's" and "me's" in those verses they add up to 18. The reason Paul was having trouble with that is he was the one trying to do it. This is why I remind myself everytime I get ready to do anything, that I will fail, good thing I belong to Christ now and am no longer mine!!! It is so true that "...apart from me, you can do nothing." I believe nothing means nothing, not a little bit, or a little okay, or good enough, I think it means absolutely zero. (P.S. If you ever tell yourself it's good enough, it probably isn't.)

We had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast with some of our family members at the church. We took this opportunity to do the Paid 4 U campaign. The joy on the waitresses face was enough! This is a great way to preach the Gospel, I love the words of St. Francis of Assisi when he said, "Preach always, and when necessary, use words." By the way, the movie: "Brother Sun, Sister Moon," is a great movie on the life of St. Frances. If you haven't seen it, please do, you will enjoy it!

When we repented and were baptized by Jesus Christ into the Body of Christ, that is, His church, we by default are members. But just like our body, if we don't use a certain appendage, or if we lean on too hard, or even if we ignore it, it will fall asleep, leaving us with a "tingling" sensation when we try to revive it so that we may have full equipment again. You know the feeling, when you are trying to figure out if it tickles or if it hurts, whether you should laugh or whether you should cry, so you just shake the appendage around with that weird look on your fact, wondering how long it will be until that "feeling" (whatever it is!) leaves you and you are back to normal. Normal? Is that the right word for it :) I also believe that when we use an appendage, even though we don't need too, it is called "exercise," and it makes us stronger, and this ables us to...you guessed it...to ENDURE TO THE END! Thank you Jesus!

Awesome! This is kinda weird, as I was just meditating on this scripture that I ran across the other night, found in Hebrews 13:15-16...
"By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. ? 16 ?But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. ?" (The NIV doesn't have the word "well" before pleased.) What I really liked about this passage is that it said our praises and fellowship makes God "well" pleased. Not that it just pleased Him, but that it pleased Him well. You see when the Tigers win a game that is pleasing to Tigers fans, but when they win the World Series, why, that is well pleasing! I notice the different "emotions" that are associated with each of the above examples. Yes, praise God!
